Our Honorary President, Neil Dalton, Awarded MBE!
We’re absolutely delighted to share that Neil Dalton, Honorary President of East Sutherland Rescue Association, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to the community in East Sutherland.
Neil’s name will be known to many across the Highlands — not just for his 11 years as Chair of ESRA, but for his more than four decades of unwavering commitment to maritime rescue and community service. As a founding member of the organisation in 1982, he has helped shape every chapter of our story — from training volunteers to leading the helm, and from local fundraising to national advocacy.
Though he stepped down as Chair only recently, Neil remains a vital part of who we are. This honour recognises the years he’s given — quietly, steadily, and always with purpose — to this community and its safety.
We’re proud beyond words, even if we know he’ll be far too modest about it himself.
Congratulations, Neil — a well-deserved moment of recognition for a life of service.
